While we do not bill insurance directly, we are happy to provide you with a detailed receipt called a Superbill upon request. You can submit this Superbill to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your specific plan's coverage.

Functional medicine looks for the underlying causes of your symptoms instead of only treating the symptoms themselves. We look at your full health history, lifestyle, nutrition, and in-depth lab work together to build a personalized plan that supports lasting health.
Are you a primary care provider or specialist?
While I am a licensed Nurse Practitioner, Caprio Functional Health acts as a specialized functional and holistic consultancy. I require all patients to maintain a traditional Primary Care Provider (PCP) for urgent matters, routine physicals, and medical emergencies. I work collaboratively alongside your PCP.
Do you take insurance?
No, we are an out-of-network, cash-pay practice. This allows us to offer extended appointment times and root-cause care without insurance restrictions. We do provide Superbills for you to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
How do virtual appointments work?
Visits take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Forms and messaging are handled through our dedicated patient portal. If lab work is required, standard bloodwork is sent to a local lab near you, and specialty test kits (like GI-MAP) are drop-shipped directly to your home.
What states are you licensed in?
Due to strict telemedicine and nursing licensure laws, I am currently only licensed to treat patients who are physically located in the state of Arizona during their virtual visits. That includes patients anywhere in the state, from Phoenix and the West Valley to Tucson and Flagstaff.
